ICE CREAM IN WINTER?
ABSOLUTELY! At the Fairs of Tastes GASTexpo
Are you one of those people who love a scoop of ice cream in winter?
Or do you usually enjoy it out of summer so you don't get cold with the temperature differences?
Did you know that ice cream actually warms you up in winter? And tea cools you down in summer?
At GASTexpo every year, the experts from Carpigiani Gelato University showcase new gelato trends and treat us to their creations in free workshops.
The best-selling ice cream flavour is still pistachio – the king of flavours, followed by Dubai style, salted caramel and mango!
- The focus will be on natural ingredients, reduced-sugar and vegan ice creams
- Customers are increasingly looking for products without artificial colours and flavours. They want products made from quality raw materials that allow us to trace their origin
- There is also growing interest in locally and seasonally sourced ingredients, including nuts, herbs and home-grown fruit.
In the premium ice cream segment, gourmet flavour combinations will continue to be on trend, such as pistachio with salted caramel, vanilla with pumpkin oil and dark chocolate with red wine. There will also be an increase in ice creams containing pieces of baked goods, known as "dessert-style" ice creams, such as potica, štrudelj, cheesecake and Sachertorte.
Interest in novelties with a Mediterranean twist is also growing, such as lemon cream, almond, ricotta and fig.
